π A New Chapter: Tembisa & Soweto — An Exposition and Museum
Figure: Teweto (Tembisa Soweto Visual), By Author, September 2025
Every community carries stories — some celebrated, some hidden, and others distorted over time. Today, I begin a journey to honor the soul of Tembisa and Soweto through an online exposition and museum: a living archive where truth, memory, and vision meet.
I call it both an exposition and a museum. Why? Because the word museum can carry vibrations I don’t align with for this sacred work. “Museum” has “muse” in it — and while some of these stories may inspire or amuse, the purpose here is not entertainment alone. It is to educate, to open conversation, to awaken consciousness, and to unite all races through the profound truth and beauty of our land, our history, and our shared humanity.
✨ Who I Am
I am Lesego Matsoane — a healer, a full-stack multimedia and product designer, and a musician who has shared stages with some of the greatest voices of our time: Hugh Masekela, Pretty Yende, The Muffinz, Vusi Mahlasela, Richard Cock, Ralf Schmitt, Alfred Phakade, and many more.
π¨ In the world of design
I have been honored to contribute to projects that shaped major brands and communities:
-
Absa Bank’s 2018 rebranding from Barclays
-
Minlog’s merge with Maptek (2021/22)
-
New Jerusalem Children’s Home, where their existing website was designed by me
These projects deepened my understanding of how design is more than visuals — it is communication, trust, and legacy.
π In the world of healing
I have walked the path of an evangelist and young pastor, known for preaching revelations and deciphering complex truths from scripture. Over the years, I have prayed for many people struggling with chronic pains and illnesses — and to this day, they remain well.
This healing journey has taught me that knowledge is vast and sacred. No single person, no single tradition, can claim the fullness of truth. Everyone is right from their vantage point. That is why I no longer isolate my spiritual life to one path. Instead, I see spirituality as a reservoir that keeps on giving, a central source where all fragments of truth meet.
This blog will never clash with religion or favor any practice above another. It will be a space of inclusion, balance, and deeper connection — because the Creator’s wisdom is bigger than us all.
✨ Why Tembisa and Soweto?
Tembisa and Soweto are not just names on a map — they are beating hearts of South Africa’s history, resilience, and creativity. Yet, their stories are often told in fragments: sometimes glorified, sometimes misunderstood, sometimes erased.
This exposition and museum exists to:
-
Correct misinformation about our past
-
Celebrate what is true — our culture, struggles, resilience, and triumphs
-
Document where we are now — economically, spiritually, emotionally, in terms of security, consciousness, education, and politics
-
Offer the world a lens into our future — a vision shaped by the voices of our people
π± My Mission
To create a digital sanctuary where stories are preserved, voices are amplified, and healing is possible — through knowledge, design, and creativity.
π My Vision
An exposition and museum that does not simply display artifacts, but one that breathes, questions, and heals. A space where Tembisa and Soweto can speak for themselves to the world — not just as townships, but as epicenters of innovation, spirituality, art, and human dignity.
πΆ A Multimedia Journey
This platform will not be limited to text. It will be a multimedia journey that includes:
-
Blogs that challenge and inspire
-
Photography that captures memory and beauty
-
Art that reimagines and preserves
-
Audio that shares voices, stories, and songs
-
Videos that bring our narratives to life
π A Final Word
As a healer, I bring the lens of balance and consciousness.
As a designer, I bring tools to shape how stories are seen and felt.
As a musician, I bring rhythm and soul to carry our narratives across borders.
This exposition and museum is not mine alone. It is ours. It belongs to every voice, every memory, and every dreamer who believes in the spirit of Tembisa and Soweto.
Welcome to the beginning. π
